1.- Download “Warcraft III Setup” (173 kb.) and unzip.
- Run “WC3Setup.exe”.
- Press “Start”, choose “Browse”, select the folder where warcraft III is installed (This is “C:\Program Files\Warcraft III” by default), select the file “Frozen Throne.exe” and “Open” (fix Warcraft III Registry Entries), and “close”.
2.- Download “Patch Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne 1.24a FULL (War3Patches_TFT_124a_enUS.exe), Install and Play!.
*NOTE: 1.24 = 1.24a. The game no longer requires the CD – NOCD – to play.

i ran into the same problem, this happened exactly after i used a version switcher i got from dota-utilities

October 17th, 2009 at 3:15 amto solove that problem you have you need to create a install path cuz you didnt intsall the game, you probably just copy the game folder from a friend or something.
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:30 amgot to “run” and type “regedit”
go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER”—>”Software”—>”Blizzard entertainment”—>”Warcraft III”
then you need to right click and create a new string value, name it to “InstallPath” and then rightclick on it set the folder were you got warcraft III. exampel “C:\Program\Warcraft III”
