The map has been compatible with 6v6 eversince the recoding of 6.30, in order to achieve a 6vs6 mode, all that needs to be done is one variable change that already has been integrated in the map. The reason why we don’t have a 6vs6 mode is because we need observer slots for competitive DotA (Tournaments and Leagues) so matches can be broadcasted. The maximum amount of slots in warcraft is 12, therefore with observers the maximum amount of players is 5vs5.”…
